Engagement proposal: Tiffany & Co. Cupcake

Engagement proposal: Tiffany & Co. Cupcake

All those Flashmobs and musical proposal you will find on the internet made me feel very unsatisfied when I was looking for an inspirational engagement proposal. On the one hand all those proposals are very cute, but on the other hand in my opinion an engagement proposal should be something very personal and because everyone does those proposal it is very random. So I thought that my engagement idea should be very personal and maybe something that can only fit to this special couple.

Who? (with who?)

Amy (29 years old) is a young woman, who works as a journalist. She grew up in the USA in a small town near to New York. She grew up with the dream to live in her future in Manhattan in a beautiful apartment. So she worked really hard to let her dream come true.

Alexander (31 years old) is an smart man, who is an architect and loves to travel the world. He is from Germany and grew up in Münster. His life goal has always been to build his own house for his family in a big city.

Amy and Alexander met 5 years ago in New York City. Alexander was in New York for 2 weeks to write an report for his university about all those special buildings in New York. It was his first time in BigApple and so you can imagine that a young architect in a city with lots of high buildings fell really fast in love with the city. So he was just walking around the streets and looking at all those buildings and tried to note everything for his report when he finally came to Time Square where he had to stand for some couple of minutes to realize that this really happens.

At the same time, Amy’s boss gave her the task for today. She had to write about the best cupcake in New York City and she had to find one cupcake which is inspired by a brand. So Amy went to 10 high rated cupcake stores in NYC and finally got a cupcake inspired by Tiffany & Co. After getting all those different cupcakes to try them she went to the Time Square, because this is here favorite place in NYC and she wants to visit it as many times as possible. But then someone ruined her day, because a man ran accidentally into her and all the cupcakes fell to the ground and were uneatable. She was so angry and shouted at him until he was looking at him. And there was Alexander. He apologized many times and came up with the idea, that he will take the costs and go with here to every cupcake store and buy her new cupcakes.

During their day in NYC they got to know each other and after 10 cupcakes they also changed numbers.

And this was the beginning of the love story from Amy and Alexander. 2 years after their first meeting the moved together in a small apartment in a suburb from NYC.

Alexander want to make a marriage proposal to Amy after a 5 year relationship.

At their 5th anniversary.

Times Square, NYC where everything begun and a new chapter will start.

They have been in a relationship for 5 years and are truly in love with each other and the already gone through thick and thin during those past 5 years.

Alexander organized that there will be a small table and two chairs on the middle of Times Square. He tell her that they will walk through NYC for a while and then they will eat in a restaurant where he reserved. Alexander will get her to Times Square and guide her to the table and tell her to sit down. On the table are 9 cupcakes which are hidden under a scarf. He sit down aswell and start to talk about the day they first met and that he fell in love at first sight with here at this place.

Then he take the scarf away and 9 cupcakes on which stand “Will u marry me” appear. Then he will get out a little box which looks like a box from Tiffany & Co. with the last cupcake inside that they had to find again 5 years ago. He will go to his knees and gave her this box now open. The cupcake is a bit different, because at the top of it, there is now an engagement ring from Tiffany & Co.

After she said hopefully “yes” they will let the evening end with a walk back home and eating these cupcakes again together and with lots of love and happiness.

This engagement proposal is of course at a very public place, but the story and the gestures make it so personal what I wanted to have.

Engagement Proposal Concept: Hot air balloon

Engagement Proposal Concept: Hot air balloon

After getting inspired by the stories I read and saw online on memorable engagement proposals like this and this, I decided to create my own version of the story (apparently the concept has been done already). I will share with you, readers, my take on a fictional engagement proposal.

Zandra Luz, a twenty-six year old Spanish lady and Jeff Reyes, a twenty-nine year old Filipino man make a decision that will be remembered forever.

On the 18th of October 2015, the long awaited proposal will take place. Since it was the day of the hot air balloon festival, the guy decided to pop the lifetime question on this day.

The romantic proposal takes place in Clark, Pampanga in the Philippines. There will be a number of hot air balloons that will take off that day to celebrate the festival.

Prior to the engagement day, the guy secretly tells his and the girl’s family that he plans to propose on the 18th of October 2015. He gives tickets to both families for the hot air balloon festival without letting the girl know.

At the day of the proposal, the girl has no idea that her family as well as the guy’s family is at the same location as them. The guy makes sure that both families hop on different hot air balloons at the same time as them. The families try to disguise themselves by wearing accessories like shades and hats. The guy makes sure that the girl’s eyes are focused on him.

The guy messages both families that the moment has arrived. Up in the air while fascinated by the beauty the couple see on the horizon and below them, the man pretends to take a photo of the girl beautifully leaning against the corner of the hot air balloon with a stunning backdrop. The guy kneels down to position himself to blurt out the big question, “Will you marry me?” The girl readily poses for the photo thinking he’s about to reach for his camera behind him. At the back of her mind, she has not an ounce of clue that what is about to happen next may change the path of her life. She’s excited thinking about how the photo will turn out with a backdrop she’s always wanted to capture with her as the subject. What she doesn’t know is that the guy kneels down and looks behind him not to grab his camera, but instead the gem he’s been long wanting to put on the girl’s finger.

He pops the question and the girl says “yes” in absolute shock and happiness. “I know how important our families are to us and I didn’t want this memorable moment to be shared just by the two of us. Look around you,” says the guy. The girl scans her horizon and sees both her and the guy’s families waving and she hears shouts of joy. Just like the hot air balloon experience, it was a peaceful, slow, steady, unexpected proposal.

The couple love to seek adventure and experience new things together. They both enjoy photography. The girl has always wished to hop on a hot air balloon as she enjoys viewing things from a high angle. The guy decides to fulfil her wish she’s waited to experience. Now, not only was her long time wish granted, but she was able to spend the experience with the love of her life, her husband-to-be.

Engagement Proposal – Mardi Gras, New Orleans

Engagement Proposal – Mardi Gras, New Orleans

The proposal, another aspect of the wedding that the bride dreams about, however the groom stereotypically dreads! Wedding proposals may follow traditions such as, the prospective groom asking the brides father for her hand in marriage before hand or the potential groom getting down on one knee. Each aspect to the lead up of the proposal, much like your wedding is personal.

Many proposals that have grasped the attention of the online world have done so because they are totally unique. Uniqueness is created through the proposals revolving around the personal aspects on which the couples relationship is based

Inspiration proposal 1

Inspiration proposal 2

Inspiration proposal 3

The proposals above all have one thing in common, they have been thoroughly planned to suit the couple relationship, each have unique factors and they shows what a relationship can develop from and develop into. There is also an incredible blog called ‘How He Asked’ , this blog shares stories of how couples got engaged and is well worth a read. And ladies, I advise that you have your tissues at the ready when researching proposals!

Proposal 1 stimulated my initial proposal idea through reconnecting the engagement concept with an old memory and whereby the memory holds a strong aspect importance within the couples relationship.

Who? and Why?

My proposal concept is for Liam (26) and Jayne (23) a couple who met at Greenhead College, England through their mutual love of music, Jazz music in particular. Six years on, after meeting in Jazz Band Liam has decided to fly them out to New Orleans, where Jazz Music originated and where their favourite Jazz musician, Louis Armstrong was born.

Where? and When?

Liam has booked to visit New Orleans over the period of Shrove Tuesday and the beginning of Lent so that they can experience the largest Mardi Gras Festival, alongside experiencing the musical atmosphere and the historically Jazz orientated state.

Screen Shot 2015-02-23 at 22.46.58The Maison Bourbon Jazz Club is a venue highly recommended on the Mardi Gras website for excellent views of the Carnival from the club’s expansive balcony which extends onto Bourbon street and St. Peter street. Here James will reserve a table for the two of them to enjoy the Carnival passing by and the buzz it creates as well as sharing and reminiscing about their love of Jazz music and how it brought them together in the first place.

One of the many traditional aspects surrounding the Mardi Gras is for items, mainly beads to be thrown off the floats into the gathering crowds, this is said to represent ‘virtual out-of-body experiences.’ The Maison Bourbon Jazz Club has been reviewed as “although not being on the ground level, we still managed to catch beads, confetti and other items thrown off the floats.” Therefore James will ‘pretend’ to catch a item thrown from the float and turn around to pass it on to Jayne, however as he does so he will get down on one knee to propose. These items caught that are said to represent the ‘virtual out-of-body experience’ will be handed alongside the engagement ring (providing she says yes!).

Proposal Concept: The Great Gatsby

Proposal Concept: The Great Gatsby

When someone asks me: “If you could go back in time, to which era would you like to go?”, my answer is always the 1920’s. I really like the dresses, the dances and the music in that time. I am also a fan of the movie The Great Gatsby in 2013. The Soundtrack is awesome and also the whole outfits are beautiful and fit perfectly in the twenties.

After deciding to do a wedding with the movie as a theme I also liked the idea of doing a proposal with that influence as well. And what could be better than using the movie Theater when the film is released.

Who? (with who?)

Henry (28) is a graphic designer who lives together with his long term girlfriend in the near of Hannover, Germany. Henry and Grace met 6 years ago at the hands of common friends. They noticed directly, that they have the same interests and opinions. Grace (27) works as a decorator and always has an eye for the details and small things in life.

Henry is going to propose to Grace at the Cinema.

Both are huge fans of the 1920’s and go  to the cinema to see the new movie of the classic the Great Gatsby.

The ASTOR Grand Cinema in Hannover, Germany.

The couple is very enthusiastic about the era of the 1920’s. When the film The Great Gatsby hits the theaters both are excited to see the movie, which takes place in the twenties. Henry wants to propose to Grace for a long time and was always wanting for the right moment. Now seems to be perfect because it united the passion of them and the idea is promising to be an unforgettable moment in both of their life.

Days before the cinema showing Henry reserves seats for the movie. The unusual of the cinema is that you can order your drinks and snack and a waiter will bring your orders to the seats. Henry already talked to the staff of the cinema and let them in on his plans about the proposal.

After the advertisements and just bevor the movie begins a waiter enters the cinema hall and brings two glasses of champagne along with some popcorn. One popcorn back is empty and inside of it is a ring case hidden. When the waiter comes with the tablet and Grace picks the back up, sees the ring and then Henry will get up and down on his knee to ask her, if she wants to spend the rest of her life with him and marry him. Meanwhile they have the whole attention of the other guest and when she says yes other waiters through confetti. Subsequently everyone takes back their seats and Henry and Grace can watch the movie as the start of a long life together.

Do you love nothing more than swapping your town shoes for your hiking boots and your duvets for sleeping bags? If so, this engagement idea may be right up your street!

Picture this, you and your girlfriend are heading out on another adventure but this time you’re not going skiing or boarding. Summer time is fast approaching and you’re going rock climbing. A perfect spring day. The air is crisp and the skies are clear. Perfect for those all important panoramic views. But if your skills and abilities are up for it, why not push it to sunset. Just a few hours makes the setting much more romantic.

rock climbing engagement portrait

You start the day out like any other climbing day. You wake up early, check the weather report (it’s going to be a blue bird!), have a hearty breakfast with a nice helping of coffee, you pack your backpacks and your away.  You drive as close as you can and walk the rest of the way like you normally do. You’ll harness up and check the ring can’t fall out of your pocket (really make sure) and set off. As you start to near the top, it’s a good idea to make sure you’re in the lead. The time has come and as she climbs over that final ridge and clambers up, shell see you, down on one knee, with the best view you could possibly have. How could she say no?

Engagement Concept: Above the Clouds

Engagement Concept: Above the Clouds

I was searching for a special way of proposing to your beloved person. I came across the idea of doing sky diving.

Anna is 25 years old and from England. She works in a marketing company in London. She loves travelling and exploring countries.

John is 26 years old and from Manchester, England. He works successfully in a company handling renewable energy. Before he started studying he worked for half a year in South Africa as a tour guide. He is really open-minded and loves adventures.

John and Anna met when they were on a Safari in South Africa. John was the English tour guide and Anna was one of the participants. As they were both from England, they started a conversation. Anna was also really interested in the animals and the nature they have seen. As they got along very well and both of them did not have any plans for the night, they went out for dinner. They talked and laughed the whole night. Anna had to leave in 3 days, but they spent all the days left together and John showed her around the area. John was supposed to stay in South Africa for another 3 months. They stayed in contact all the time and when he came back, they started to date. This was 5 years ago, now they live happily together.

For their 5th anniversary in summer.

Anna and John were flying back to the place they met, South Africa.

John surprised Anna with sky diving, which she always dreamed of doing. Although both of them are absolute adventure lovers, she has never done it before.

So Anna was already really excited about the sky diving and she did not even know what was waiting for her after landing. On the ground there was a sign saying: ’Anna, will you marry me?’, which she could already see when she was approaching the ground.

John will be the first one to land, so that he is able to propose properly when Anna arrives.

All this is documented as a video by the instructors, who of course knew about the proposal so that Anna will land at the spot where the sign is.

Afterwards they will celebrate their engagement by having a pick-nick in a lonely place of South Africa’s nature accompanied by a beautiful sunset.
