After my engagement proposal plan Grow Old Together for Daisy and Danny, I would like to plan a wedding ceremony for them. The couple would like to have a ceremony that is simple, natural but identified, and has something relating to postal, love letters, as a lovely detail in their favorite movie The Notebook. It is also because they have written many love letters to each other and loved the feeling of waiting the rise of mailbox flag.
Following their characteristics, I was inspired by the nature beauty of a summer farmyard or immense garden with lakes in a manor. I wanted to compliment the space in every way by going for an overall fresh and natural look. The ideal venue comes to me by the landscape of Pippin Hill Farm in America. However, in Finland, we also have some good places with vast field to stick with the venue concept, such as Suomenlinna, Haiko Manor or other farmyards in the countryside.
The concept of the wedding is combination between the 40s – 50s styles (it is not only the style in The Notebook film, but also considered as the era of postal development), and the vintage style with tender color flowers and rustic decorations. The color theme is not much so strict because of the vintage style’s abundance, but in some sets, I would prefer retro colors such as pastel blue, pink, mint green or pale yellow.
The invitation letters have vintage style that is made from light brown paper and sealed with a wax seal mark. Also, at the front side of envelops, we can decorate by special custom stamps. It can be the date of ceremony and abbreviated names of the bride and groom.
The outfits is relied on the 50s style. While Daisy, the bride wears a tea-length white dress with the stiletto or Mary Jane, tweeds, braces and bow ties all combine to achieve rustic the groom style.
The wedding ceremony will be celebrated in the morning under eagerness of summer sunlight. Thus, a parasols basket for guests would be an ingenious idea for this outdoor wedding.
In addition, because of being one of the most memorable moments of the wedding day when the bride stands into and see her love standing at the end, the wedding aisle is a detail that we need to pay attention. The vintage-inspired Mason jar vases will add a rustic touch to the aisle. Each jar is adorned with lace and a twine bow and has a wire handle for easy hanging on an aisle chair. I would like to use baby’s breath in the vase because it adds such a beautiful effect when looking down the aisle and looks great in pictures. These adorable vases can be got double use by moving them after the ceremony to use as reception decor. The gateway arch is simply framed by branches, decorated with neutral colors wild blooms or pink roses in little glass of bottles or jars.
The bride can reach the ceremony by a vintage automobiles to impress the guests.
After the marriage announcement of the celebrant, groom and bride can capture their happy milestone with guests by together releasing into the sky balloons printed names of the couple on. It would be a fantastic picture and a memorable moment.
The reception would be organized in the evening as dinner. However, the guests can come earlier to write guest book, take picture at the photo-shoot booth and have some sweets, popcorn or small pastries on a candy table when gossiping before dinner time. In term of dinner menu, there are about ten dishes including salads, soup for starter, the main courses such as toasted beef, stews, and desserts with jelly and fruits.
The dinner tables will be set in rustic style with white table cloth, wood chairs. On the table, there are wooden boxes with flowers which also have DIY old spoons with words on it. It look identified with your own words, own style and would work perfect for seating cards or table numbers for the wedding.
The guest book is something special because our guests type their notes or advices to the bride and groom by the vintage typewriter putting on the reception table. After that, they will put these message into ready-to-send envelops that already have stamps and then put in a mail box. After the wedding, bridesmaids or close friends can help to send these letters, maybe on different times, to the house of the couple. As a result, somehow their remarkable milestone could be still reminded every day or every week later on.
At night, after the dinner, there is a private show especially for family and close friends, but anyone who have time, they are welcomed to join with. Because the bride and groom have many friends working in musical industry, it would be an acoustic music show in rustic style, with light strings, low-height wood table and some snacks. At this show, people can sing together and have some kind of short speeches to share their sentiment to the couple and emotions they had through this event. It is not only expected to be very touching moment and but also a nice way to warmly and immaculately close a memorable day.
